The Tigers had a great day competing at the Southern California Prelims this past Saturday at Cerritos College. The men had 25 people qualify for the Southern California Championships this Saturday at Cerritos. The sprints were led by Christopher Shiley (Citrus Valley HS) in the 400m running a season best of 48.99 to qualify for next week's finals. The middle distance are continuing to be a dominant force qualifying 4 guys in to next week's finals which includes Alec Hall (Norco HS), Cade Clark (Santiago HS), Joshua Silva (Corona HS), and Ricardo Cardenas (J.W. North HS). The 1500m crew also had a great day qualifying 3 to next week's finals. The three who qualified were Alec Hall, Christian Malloy (Vista Murrieta HS) and Joshua Silva (Corona HS). The long distance looks strong with two, Michael Simpson (Canyon Springs HS) and Darvale Jackson (J.W. North) qualifying in the 3000m steeplechase. Isaiah Quiambao (Martin Luther King HS) finished in eighth in the 10k which was a final and looks like he will be the first Tiger to qualify for the State Meet at American River. James Wilson (Alta Loma HS) continues to lead the jumps qualifying in both the long and triple jump. Wilson will be joined by Chase Morrisiette (Redlands East Valley HS) in the triple jump, and Anthony Garcia in the long jump (Murrieta Valley HS). The throws qualified two in the shot put, Kyle Jenkins (San Gorgonio HS) and Jordan Davis (Elsinore HS), one in the discus, Jordan Davis, and three in the hammer, Kyle Jenkins, Marcos Villegas (Murrieta Valley HS) and Josiah Ricciardi (Hemet HS).

The Tigers are back in action next Saturday, May 13th 2017 at Cerritos College for the Southern California Championships.
