Tigers Sweep Season Series against Fullerton & Saddleback

The Riverside City College beach volleyball squad rounded out regular season action this Friday by taking on a trio of competitors in Saddleback, Irvine Valley, and Fullerton. The Tigers swept the season series against Fullerton and Saddleback, but dropped to Irvine Valley.

The Tigers started off the day by defeating Fullerton by the final score of 4-1. Natalie Escher and Brittney Diffine earned a three set, come-from-behind victory by the final counts of 18-21, 21-15, and 15-10, while Marcella Rodriguez and Julia Balancier backed them with a two set victory. Their scores read 21-13, 21-17.

Delany Beck and Lauren Dunmore were the most dominant crew by earning a two set victory with scores of 21-17, 21-7, while Taylor Gardner and Telanni Childs worked towards a win with set scores reading 21-17, 21-13.

The Tigers followed with a sweep over Saddleback as Diffine and Escher earning a two set victory at 21-11, 21-8. Rodriguez and Balancier followed with a 21-14, 21-12 win. Gardner and Childs earned the other two set win with scores of 21-11, 21-14.

The Tigers conclude action with an overall record of 9-8. They will enter into Orange Empire Conference Championship next week starting on Wednesday, April 25th and concluding Friday, April 27th.
