RCC: Tiger Backers to hold Golf Fundraiser
BY ALLAN STEELE
Riverside City College Tiger Backers, the community support group for RCC athletics, will hold its annual Tiger Backer Golf Tournament on Monday, May 13, at Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Tigers' 17 athletic programs and its student-athletes.
"Each year the RCC Tiger Backers provide essential support for the more than 500 student athletes at RCC and this tournament is our largest event of the year," said RCC alumnus Scott Hooks, president of the Tiger Backers. "RCC is home to a long list of successful athletes, many of whom have gone on to achieve success both on and off the field. This tournament is one way our community can support its students."
The cost is $175 per player or $700 for a foursome. Player entrance fee includes range balls, golf, carts, lunch, on-course refreshments and post-tournament dinner. Extra dinner tickets are available for $50 in advance. There are also several sponsor opportunities for the four-player scramble event. The tournament, which begins at 11 a.m., will feature a putting contest, longest drive contest, closest to the hole and hole-in-one contests at each of the par 3 holes.
