Bio

Kyle Turley enters his first season as the assistant offensive line coach for the Tigers. Turley brings a wealth of knowledge to the coaching staff after playing in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons and playing Division I football at San Diego State University.

Turley made a name for himself as a standout offensive lineman at Valley View HS in Moreno Valley, CA thus leading to a scholarship offer at SDSU. Turley played under current RCC Head Coach Tom Craft who was the offensive coordinator for the Aztecs. He experienced a career-year during his final season as an Aztec in 1997 by earning NCAA First-Team All-American honors and First Team All-Western Atlantic Conference recognition. Additionally, the standout lineman was a semifinalist for the Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy during his final campaign.

Turley continued on to have an illustrious career in the NFL after being drafted seventh overall in the 1998 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. He was the first offensive lineman selected from the '98 class and subsequently signed a six-year deal. He was a monster from the get-go by starting 15 games his rookie season and being named to the All-Rookie squad from Pro Football Weekly, Football News, and Football Digest. Turley showed off his versatility during his five years with the Saints by playing left guard, right tackle, and right guard. His play led him to a pair of All-Pro Bowl selections in 2001 and 2002.

Turley continued to play for the St. Louis Rams (2003-04) and the Kansas City Chiefs (2006-07) after retiring in 2007.

Prior to joining the Tigers' coaching staff, Turley coached at a trio of high schools in the Riverside district that include Arlington HS, King HS, and Rancho Verde HS.

He is married to his wife, Stacy, and has a son, Dean, and a daughter, Rebecca.
