Cross Country Competes in Highlander Invitational against Various Levels

The Riverside City College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the UC Riverside Highlander Invitational on Saturday afternoon against a handful of competitors ranging from community college to Division I, II, and III opponents. The men placed 16^th overall while the women placed 15^th overall in their first race in two weeks.

The men rode the skills of sophomore Enrique Villa as he placed 23^rd overall and was the top finisher for the Tigers. He crossed the finish line with a time of 25:15.0 encompassing an average mile time of 5:04.7. Additionally, he was the fourth best finisher in the community college standings.

Freshman Tyler Graves followed with a time of 26:20.4 as the second-best finisher for the Tigers, while freshman Kevin Lopez followed with a time of 27:12.1. Freshman Ricardo Cruz finished just behind his teammate with a clip reading 27:13.7.

The women were the fourth-best community college finishers leading to their 15^th place finish. Freshman Aliy Camacho paced the Tiger pack with a clip of 19:30.3 to acted as the top RCC runner. Her time was good for 114^th overall. She was backed by freshman Sujey Esteva with a clip of 20:05.2 and freshman Genesis Obispo with a mark of 20:12.2.

The Tigers compete in the Titan Invitational at Cal State Fullerton on Friday, October 19 at 5 p.m.
