Craft Inducted into Riverside Sport Hall of Fame

Riverside City College saw three Tigers honored at the Riverside Sport Hall of Fame Ceremony Monday night at the California Baptist University Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler Events Center.

Recently retired football coach Tom Craft was inducted into the hall of fame, while Michael Chang (men's tennis) and Nadia Munoz (women's cross country/track & field) were recognized as the top student-athletes from RCC.

Craft was inducted into the Hall of Fame following a historic 30-year run at the junior college level, spanning three powerhouse programs, and finished his career with a 261-78-1 record.

The legendary football coach announced his retirement after the 2024 season ended, his 14th with the Tigers. Craft left the Tigers with a 146-22 record (86.9 winning percentage), two 3C2A State Championships, 12 conference titles, 14 consecutive postseason appearances and 10 straight Southern California Football Association title games.

Chang just finished his second year with the Tigers, helping Riverside make it to the SoCal Regional Championship for the first time while also qualifying for the 3C2A State Championship as a singles player and doubles team for the second year in a row. Chang finished in the Sweet 16 as a singles player and went to the semifinals in doubles action.

The sophomore from Riverside was named the ITA/3C2A Sophomore Player of the Year after not dropping a single match in Orange Empire Conference action. He was also named the OEC Singles Player of the Year and part of the OEC Doubles Team of the Year.

Munoz is still competing in her track season but already was named the OEC Women's Track Athlete of the Year after winning both the 5K and 10K conference championships. She qualified for the 5K and 10K at the SoCal Championship and boasts the best 10K time in the state.

This past fall, the sophomore from Riverside earned All-OEC, all-region and All-American cross country honors.
