Babcock Awarded Riverside Sport Hall of Fame President's Award
Riverside City College's Todd Babock was honored at the Riverside City Sports Hall of Fame earlier this month. The longtime Athletic Trainer for the Tigers received the President's Award, which is a prestigious honor given to community leaders and contributors who have provided distinguished service to local athletics and the greater Riverside community.
Babcock is in his 21st year with RCC and has attended every Tiger football game since 1993. While at RCC, Babcock provides practice and game coverage, injury prevention, and rehabilitation for the student-athletes. He also manages the Athletic Training budget, emergency action plan development, insurance claims, and record management. He is also an adjunct instructor at RCC and has taught numerous kinesiology classes, including Lower and Upper Extremity; Head, Neck, Spine; and General Medical Conditions.
Babcock developed RCC as a clinical site for California Baptist University and is the Club Advisor for the Athletic Training Student Club program at RCC, leading students to further their careers in the field of kinesiology. He has also been heavily involved in the department's fundraising efforts, especially to raise funds for the Athletic Training Student Club for professional development and educational purposes, as well as the Tiger Backers, the donor club of RCC Athletics, where he is the treasurer.
Babcock graduated from Washington State University in 1990 with a BS in physical education before getting his Master of Science in Physical Education from the University of Idaho in 1993. While at Idaho, he was a graduate assistant with the Vandals, providing practice and game coverage – including travel to away contests – rehabilitation design and implementation, insurance claims, and record management. He holds a National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) by the American Heart Association.
A longtime Riverside resident, Babcock is an active member with the California Community College Athletic Trainers Association, where he is the Treasurer and webmaster, along with the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), Far West Athletic Trainers Association, and the California Athletic Trainers Association. In 2025, he was awarded the CCCATA Special Service Award. He has also been named the NATA Community College/NJCAA Athletic Trainer of the Year and was given a Letter of Service Recognition by the Community Medical Group of Riverside for efforts related to staff safety and well-being.
