Tolbert, Bonzoumet Honored as Students of Distinction
Riverside City College's Dyeem Tolbert and Grace Bonzoumet were named Students of Distinction Thursday afternoon.
Each department chair at RCC puts forward a student to represent their discipline/department, based on their excellent achievement in said discipline/department.
Tolbert, a member of the men's cross country and track and field teams, was nominated by Head Coach Jim McCarron and will transfer to Cal State San Bernardino to pursue a degree in communications.
While at Riverside, Tolbert earned Academic All-State honors in both track and field and cross country, boasting a 3.7 GPA. He also serves on the Orange Empire Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as the secretary and represented RCC as a speaker at UC Riverside about the collaboration between the two institutions.
Bonzoumet was honored by the Athletic Training Department and plans to transfer to Cal State Fullerton to pursue a bachelor's degree and already has her sights on the future, hoping to earn a doctorate in physical or occupational therapy.
During her time at RCC, Bonzoumet boast a 4.0 GPA with an incredibly demanding schedule, including working part time and putting in hours with the Riverside Athletic Training staff, successfully completed 150 lab hours for her internship, gaining valuable hands-on experience and strengthening her professional foundation.
