Winborn’s 25 Off the Bench Leads Riverside to Victory over Barstow

The Riverside City College men's basketball team rode a 25-point explosion off of the bench from freshman guard Tyree Winborn en route to a 79-53 victory over Barstow College. The Tigers are currently riding a three-game winning streak with a pair of non-conference games remaining on their schedule.

Riverside outplayed Barstow in every category as they outshot them from the floor (46.6%), three-point land (40%) and only committed 15 turnovers to Barstow's 25. The Tigers relied on the three-point shot by draining 16 of them.

Winborn, who recorded a career-high 25 points, hit six of his 11 shots from beyond the arc. He added two shots that were close range in transition and was a flawless 3-for-3 from the charity stripe. Freshman guard Otto Taylor flushed 15 points to mark his third-consecutive game in which he has landed in double-digit scoring.

Sophomore guard CJ Clark continued to produce in a starting role as he finished with 14 points accompanied by six rebounds, two assists and three steals. Sophomore forward Franky McQuay continued to add the clutch intangibles by hauling in seven boards and pocketing three assists. Sophomore guard Rico Tate ran the offense efficiently by dishing out seven assists.

Riverside (9-5) will continue action on Saturday, January 5 as they will host their final non-conference game against Moorpark College. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
