Riverside City College found itself in a cat fight in the very first game of the season but came up just short in an 85-81 loss to West LA College on the first day of the We Play Hard Tournament.
The Tigers start the year 0-1, while the Wildcats begin at 1-0 overall.
Three Tigers finished in double figures with Jaedon Hose-Shea leading the charge with 17 points (5-for-12) off the bench. PJ Pounds posted a double-double with 15 points (5-for-15) and 11 rebounds, while Jabari Harris added 14 points (4-for-6).
RCC concludes the We Play Hard Tournament against host Ventura College on Friday at 7 p.m.
