Riverside City College couldn't get shots from the perimeter to fall in a close 71-65 loss to No. 16-ranked Mt. San Jacinto College Thursday night.
The Tigers slip to 5-5 on the year, while the Eagles improve to 7-3 overall.
Kollen Murphy (9-for-18) and PJ Pounds (8-for-14) each finished with 20 points for the Tigers, while Pounds and Matthias Tinker led their rebounding efforts with seven boards each. Pounds also grabbed three steals, while Tinker blocked two shots.
RCC only hit three triples all game to boast a 10.0 shooting percentage from beyond the arc, despite shooting 39.1 percent from the floor.
The Tigers close out their three-day tournament on Saturday, hosting No. 12-ranked Ventura College for a 2 p.m. contest.
