No. 26-ranked Riverside City College was firing on all cylinders in a 91-75 victory over No. 10-ranked Santiago Canyon College Wednesday night.
The Tigers improve to 13-8 overall and move into a tie for second place in the Orange Empire Conference standings with a 5-2 conference record. The Hawks slip to 16-5 on the year and share the second spot with RCC at 5-2 in the OEC.
As a team, Riverside shot an impressive 52.4 percent from the floor and 88.9 percent from the charity stripe.
Five Tigers finished in double figures, led by Kollen Murphy's 21-point output (7-for-12). Jaedon Hose-Shea followed with 13 points (5-for-8), while Jayden Harper added 12 points (4-for-6). PJ Pounds added 11 points (4-for-6) and Kavon Ray closed out the group with 10 points (3-for-8).
Things were close for the first eight minutes before RCC went on a 9-2 run to jump out to its first double-digit lead of the night, 26-16.
Riverside held a 47-33 lead at the break and held strong to grab the 91-75 victory.
RCC gets the second half of the OEC schedule underway on Friday, hosting Orange Coast College for a 5 p.m. tip off.
