RCC Dominates OCC to Hold Onto Second-Place OEC Standing

No. 26-ranked Riverside City College eclipsed triple digits for the first time this season, dominating a 105-62 victory over Orange Coast College.

The Tigers improve to 14-8 on the year and hold their second-place standing in the Orange Empire Conference with a 6-2 conference mark. The Pirates drop to 1-21 overall, 0-8 in conference.

PJ Pounds led the Tigers with 18 points (7-for-9), while Zay Freeman (6-for-11) added 16 points and Matthias Tinker chipped in 14 points (7-for-12).

Off the glass, RCC dominated and finished with 49 rebounds, while limiting the Pirates to 27 boards. Jabari Harris led with six rebounds, followed by Pounds' five boards.

As a team, Riverside shot 59.5 percent from the floor and had 27 assists in the game, including seven from Reggie Caldwell.

The Tigers look to keep rolling as they head to top-ranked Fullerton College on Wednesday, hoping to dethrone the Hornets from the top spot in the OEC standings.
