RCC Men Win Chaffey Invitational
The RCC Men's Swim Team won the Chaffey Invitational hosted at the Riverside Aquatics Complex March 8 & 9. The Tigers, who trailed after the first day of competition, managed to come from behind and claim the victory by 40 points.
The Tigers were led by Freshman Nathan Diaz who went 4:59.99 in the 500 Freestyle and 17:12.35 in the 1650 Freestyle. Sophomores and Team Captains, William Koenig, Luke Obert, and Morgan Dillon also scored big for the team over the weekend. Koenig finished with times of 22.63 in the 50 Freestyle and 49.17 in the 100 Freestyle and Obert clocked a season best in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:07.69. Dillon, with perhaps the most grueling lineup of the weekend, went 5:07.67 in the 500 Freestyle, 4:32.50 in the 400 Individual Medley, and 17:50.35 in the 1650 Freestyle.
The 800 Freestyle relay, composed of Koenig, Obert, Diaz, and Jacob Wilson finished 1st with a time of 7:35.34. The Tigers resume Conference action this Friday, March 15 at the RAC when they will take on Fullerton College and Saddleback College in a double dual meet at 1pm.
