RCC Swim Teams at OEC Championships
The Riverside City College Men's and Women's Swim Teams wrapped up day 2 of the Orange Empire Conference Swimming Championships held at Golden West College today.
The women put forth a strong effort and trail the leader by 12 points going into the final day of competition. The women were led by Kamaehu Alboro who was the Conference Champion winning the 50 Backstroke with a time of 27.08. Aimee Giingland finished 3rd in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.84 and Lauren Carter placed 3rd in the 50 Breaststroke with a time of 31.77. Tiffanie Perez had a strong showing with a 5th place finish in the 50 Butterfly with a time of 28.06. The 800 Freestyle relay composed of Tiffanie Perez, Keonni Obert, Allison Danaher, and Emily Holmquist finished 2nd with a time of 8:04.42.
The Men are currently in 3rd place going into the final day of competition. They had a very strong showing in the 400 IM with Morgan Dillon placing 2nd with a time of 4:16.32, Jonathan Tapia placing 3rd with a time of 4:21.26, and Nicholas Morabito finishing 4th with a time of 4:22.77. Luke Obert had the 2nd fastest time in the 100 Butterfly on the day going 51.97. Nathan Diaz and William Koening led the way in the 200 Freestyle going 1:44.95 and 1:46.05 respectively. Christopher Forte finished 9th with a time of 1:02.96 in the 100 Breaststroke. The 800 Freestyle Relay, composed of Jordain Donnelly, Morgan Dillon, Jacob Wilson, and Nathan Diaz finished 3rd with a time of 7:04.84.
The Conference Championships conclude tomorrow with Finals starting at 3pm at Golden West College.
