Tigers Sweep the Vaqueros

Match Notes:

 

·         Freshman Danny Garcia started the Tigers off with a big win in his first college match, 6-3, 6-1.

·         Sophomores Ulises Banos and Aliaksandr Pesniak followed it up with convincing wins at the #5 and #2 spots respectively.

·         Sophomore Jordan Gobatie kept the Tigers rolling and battled to a 6-4, 6-3 victory in the #1 position, putting the Tigers up 4-0 in the team score.

·         Sophomore Gustavo Carvalho sealed the victory for the Tigers, putting the Tigers up 5-0.

·         Freshman Eliott Moreno kept the Tigers perfect in singles with a solid win at the #6 singles position.

·         The Tigers finished singles 6-0, without dropping a set.

·         In doubles, the freshman duo of Garcia and Moreno from Arlington High School paired up at #1 to finish the match and earn the sweep for the Tigers, 8-4.

·         RCC now looks forward to their non-conference matchup in San Diego against Pacific Coast Conference power Grossmont College, Tuesday, February 5th (2:00).  They then return home for a cross-town matchup against NCAA Division 1 opponent UCR at Andulka Park at 12:00 on Thursday, February 7th.
