RIVERSIDE -- Selena Duran and Bailey Powell smacked home runs to highlight a five-run fifth inning as the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's fastpitch softball team posted an 8-0 Orange Empire Conference "mercy-rule shortened" home win over the Orange Coast College (OCC) Pirates Wednesday afternoon (Apr. 16) at Brown Field (Evans Sports Complex).
The game lasted only 1:16.
Sophomore RF Austin Schmidt (Notre Dame) went two for three for Riverside (26-10, 14-4 OEC).
Frosh RHP MacKenzie Maxwell (Yucaipa HS) went the distance and scattered four hits and one walk with nine strikeouts to improve to 12-4.
Kellie Tiner went 4-2/3 innings and took the loss (8-14) for OCC (9-20, 4-15 OEC).
