Bio
Returning in 2015 for his second season as running backs coach for Riverside City College (RCC) is Lynell Hamilton.
Hamilton, a graduate of San Diego State University (SDSU), with a bachelor of science degree also earned a master's degree in post-secondary education from SDSU.
His career began at Edison High School in Stockton where he was ranked as one of the top running backs in the country. Hamilton chose to attend SDSU over the University of Oregon and Colorado.
At SDSU, he played for current RCC head coach Tom Craft and, in 2003, as a true freshman was named Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year. and freshman All-America. Hamilton was on pace to break Marshall Faulk's freshman rushing record when he broke his leg with three left in the 2003 season.
Hamilton went on to play with the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League in 2008. He helped the Saints to a win in Super Bowl XXXXX and then had a career-ending knee injury in 2010-11 that cut his NFL career short.
Hamilton is the father of a son, Lynell II, age 4.
