After a 19-day hiatus, Riverside City College got back to the hardwood and grabbed a dominant 83-56 victory over Orange Coast College Wednesday night to begin Orange Empire Conference action.
The Tigers improve to 9-6 on the year and start OEC action with a 1-0 mark, while the Pirates drop to 1-14 overall, 0-1 in conference.
Four Tigers finished the night in double figures, led by Kollen Murphy with 21 points (7-for-13). PJ Pounds followed with 16 points on an impressive 7-for-10 shooting performance, while Tylon Williams added 11 points (4-for-7) and Kavon Ray chipped in 10 points (4-for-10).
Pounds also grabbed 10 rebounds to post his fifth double-double of the season, while Matthias Tinker snagged six boards.
As a team, RCC finished with a 47.5 shooting percentage and will look to build on that as it takes on No. 2-ranked Fullerton College on Friday back at Wheelock Gym.
