Riverside Drops Sophomore Night Battle

No. 23-ranked Riverside City College battled but couldn't shake off Cypress College in an 88-82 loss Wednesday night.

The Tigers slip to 16-11 overall, 8-5 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Chargers improve to 16-11 on the year and 7-4 in conference.

Kollen Murphy led RCC with 23 points (9-for-14), grabbed seven rebounds and dished out five assists. Tylon Williams chipped in 16 points (6-for-13) and Jayden Harper added 12 points (4-for-5). Jabari Harris rounded out the scorers in double figures with 11 points (5-for-9).

Riverside shot at an impressive 50-percent clip but only hit 50-percent of its free throws (8-for-16).

The Tigers close out the regular season on Friday, heading to No. 20-ranked Santiago Canyon College for a 5 p.m. tip off. Fullerton College locked up the conference title, but second place is still up for grabs for RCC.
