Murphy Leads Five Tigers with OEC Postseason Honors

After finishing in second place in the Orange Empire Conference, Riverside City College saw five players earn postseason honors.

Kollen Murphy led the selection as the Offensive Player of the Year, while Tylon Williams and Jabari Harris each earned all-first team honors. Kavon Ray picked up second-team recognition, while PJ Pounds grabbed honorable mention.

Murphy finished the regular season averaging 16.6 points per game (fourth in the OEC) on 44.3 percent shooting. He scored in double figures 19 times, including a career-high 30 points in RCC's 78-76 victory over Irvine Valley. The sophomore also averaged 2.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game.

Williams averages 9.0 points per game heading into the postseason and boasts a 45.4 shooting percentage. The sophomore also averages 2.6 rebounds and ranks third in the conference with 41 steals on the year.

Harris enters the postseason with a 7.6 points per game average, boasting a 42.4 shooting percentage. The sophomore also averages 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

In his collegiate debut, Ray finished the regular season averaging 7.2 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.

Pounds sits second on the team with 11.2 points per game after the regular season, boasting a team-high 54.9 shooting percentage (fourth in the conference). Off the glass, the sophomore averages 7.0 rebounds per game (third in the OEC) and has 26 blocks on the year (fifth in conference).

The Tigers have their eyes set on the postseason and will host Southwestern College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
