Riverside City College battled but saw its season come to an end in a 79-74 loss to Southwestern College Wednesday night.
The Tigers end the year with a 17-12 mark, while the Jaguars improve to 16-13 on the year and continue in the 3C2A SoCal Regional.
PJ Pounds finished with 16 points (4-for-6) and six rebounds, while Tylon Williams chipped in 13 points (3-for-6) and Jabari Harris rounded out the scorers in double figures with 11 points (3-for-10).
It came down to the wire as Pounds grabbed a crucial and-one opportunity to put the Tigers within two with 43 seconds left to play. Southwestern called a timeout and sank its free throws to close out the game 79-74.
