Men’s Track & Field Dominates Throws, Earns Nine Top Finishes at Mt. SAC Relays

The Riverside City College men's track and field team took home nine gold medals at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays on Saturday. The Tigers were competitive in nearly every field while absolutely dominating in the throwing arena.

To no surprise, sophomore Donal Aluesi cruised to three top finishes coming in the Discus (161' 9"), Hammer (174' 6") and Shot Put (51 11 ¼"). Right on his heels was Edward Ta'amilo who placed second in the Discus (157') and Shot Put (51' 3 ½").

Alan Rennie followed with a bronze medal finish in the Shot Put (47' 10"), backed by a fourth place mark in the Discus (142' 5"). Christian Burroughs finished third in the Discus (149') and fourth in the Shot Put (47' 1 ½").

Anthony McCullough rounded out the top finishes in the throws area with a third-place mark in the Javelin (166' 9").

Darius Hill continues to act as the standard in the jumps by placing frist overall in the Long Jump (24' 5") and the High Jump (6' 8 ¾"). Reno Vasquez followed with a second-place mark in the High Jump (6' ¾"), while Quinten Flowers earned the bronze medal in the Long Jump (22' 1 ½").

Ernesto Ruiz had a banner day by hauling in two gold medals coming in the 3000 M Steeplechase (9:37.47) and the 5000 M (15:20.95) to lead the distance squad. Gavyn Condit finished slightly behind in the 5000 M (15:22.65) to earn second place.

Kyle Reden, as usual, held it down in the 1500 M (3:57.56) and snapping the tape. He was the lone runner to recorded a sub four-minute mark.

Joshua Hornsby cleared the runway for a top finish in the 110 M Hurdles (14.01). He later teamed up with Mekhi Gilmore, Luke Gleason and Elijah Davis in the 1600 M Relay (3:16.65)  earning the bronze medal.
