Ten Tigers Ready To Train at Next Level

Following a top-five finish at the 3C2A State Championship, Riverside City College Women's track and field will send off 10 athletes to the next level.
Leading the pack is Sara Brittin, who will move on to Long Beach State. Brittin, a strong competitor in javelin, grabbed sixth place at the state championships.
A staple in the throws events, Nyah Brown will be taking her talents to Cal State Northridge. The highlight of her career with the Tigers was her record-breaking performance at the Mangrum Invite. Setting a new meet record with a mark of 13.17 meters. It broke the previous record set in 2023 by .16 meters.
Beau Hocking will be going to Cal State San Marcos. As a Tiger, she competed in the sprint events and placed sixth at the state championships in the long jump.
Six athletes will stay local and head to Cal State San Bernardino. Jessica Munoz, Kyndall Hayes, Kierstin Marpaung, Janel Lugo-Bourbonnias, Celeste Mendoza and Alexandra Franco will become Coyotes.
A middle-distance runner, Munoz finished sixth in the 10k at the OEC prelims.
Hayes competed in sprints and placed sixth at the SoCal Championships in the 400-meter.
Marpaung capped off her time at RCC with a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles at the 3C2A State Championships.
Lugo-Bourbonnias placed fourth in the 400-meter race at the OEC Championships.
Mendoza placed fifth in the 5k at the OEC Championships.
Franco placed fifth in hammer throws at the OEC prelims.
