Tigers Can't Hold Off Dons Late

For the third straight game, two of the top teams not just in the Orange Empire Conference, but the 3C2A as a whole, battled, but it didn't go in No. 6-ranked Riverside City College's favor. No. 3-ranked Santa Ana College had the last laugh once again, scoring late in the game to take a 10-7 victory.
The Tigers slip to 22-9 overall, 8-4 in the OEC, while the Dons improve to 28-2-1 on the year and take sole possession of first place in the conference standings with an 11-1 mark.
Luis Sosa went 3-for-4 for the Tigers, who also saw multiple hits from Aiden Erlandsen (2-for-2), Grant Gray (2-for-5), and Gavin Egan (2-for-4).
It came down to the ninth inning with both teams tied at 7-7, but Santa Ana managed to send three runners in and hold off the Tigers in the bottom half of the inning to secure the win.
RCC looks to shake it off as it starts a new OEC series next week with Orange Coast College. The Tigers head to the Pirates' diamond first for a 2 p.m. contest on Tuesday.
