Rossi Qualifies for SoCal Regional

Riverside City College saw one individual qualify for the SoCal Regional, while taking sixth in the first round and fifth in the second round of the Orange Empire Conference Finals Wednesday.

The Tigers posted a 375 in the first 18 holes and followed with a 380 in the second part of the day.

Brayden Gilpin and Tray Alshurafa led RCC with 73s in the first round. Gilpin followed with a 79 in the second round, while Alshurafa carded a 76.

Caden Rossi earned his spot in the SoCal Regional after posting a 75 in the first part and a one-over 73 in the second part. Rigo Navarro also carded 75 to open the day and finished with a 76.

Carson Escobedo finished with a 79 and 76, while Elijah Gonzales posted an 82 and 80.

The Tigers will compete at the SoCal Preview on April 30 as a team, before Rossi competes at the regional on May 5. Both events will be held at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills.
