More Strong Performances at 3C2A State Championship for RCC

Riverside City College sits in fifth overall at the 3C2A State Championship Meet and saw more records broken.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Lennon Franklin, Jared Ladinez, Zekiah Serrano and Yousef Nahali set a new RCC record with a time of one minute, 29.50 seconds, which also was faster than the previous 3C2A State record. Unfortunately, American River College came in just a little faster to take first and set the new State record (1:28.86).

Serrano finished runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 48.56 seconds, less than .5 seconds behind first place.

Ladinez finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 55.63 seconds.

Franklin took fourth in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 50.40 seconds.

Zachary McDonald posted a score of 192.70 on the 1-meter diving board to take sixth overall.

The Tigers' 800-yard freestyle team (Nahali, Alejandro Mondragon, Vincent Fierro, Jeremiah Ireland) finished just outside the top 10, posting a time of 7:13.52 to take 11th.

Riverside closes out the 3C2A State Championship on Saturday.
