Riverside Dominates Nonconference Action
Riverside City College won the Crafton Hills Invite in dominant fashion on Friday and Saturday, posting wins in all but one event.
The Tigers finished with 1480 points, while Chaffey College took second with 505 points.
Riverside opened with the best time in the 200-yard free relay (1:28.63) and won the 800-yard freestyle relay in 7:13.96. The Tigers also won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:41.96 and the 400-yard free relay in 3:22.04, before capping the meet with a win in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:42.18.
Bryce Hitter won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:02.15, while Eli Martinez-Spencer took second in 2:02.39. Martinez-Spencer grabbed first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:57.83. Hitter also won the 100-yard IM in 56.29 seconds.
Wyatt Miner took first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:57.60 and won the 100-yard backstroke in 53.71 seconds. Miner also finished with the top time in the 400-yard IM (4:29.77).
Vincent Fierro won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:01.60, while Jeremiah Ireland took second in 5:03.71. Ireland won the 100-yard butterfly in 56.42 seconds and the 100-yard free in 48.28 seconds, while Fierro won the 1650-yard free with a time of 18:00.66.
Aaron Ho posted the best time in the 50-yard free with a time of 22.29 seconds, while Isaac Sheu followed .01 seconds behind to take second. Sheu also took second in the 200-yard free (1:50.12).
Jared Ladinez won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:15.51 and posted the fastest time in the 100-yard breast (59.91 seconds).
The Tigers look to carry momentum into the second Orange Empire Conference meet of the year, heading to Orange Coast College on Friday at 9 a.m.
