RCC Dominates Crafton Hills Invitational
Riverside City College won the Crafton Hills Invite in dominant fashion on Friday and Saturday, posting wins in all but two events.
The Tigers posted 1214 team points, more than double host Crafton Hills Community College (603), which took second.
RCC kicked the event off with a win in the 200-yard free relay, clocking in at one minute, 47.59 seconds. The Tigers also won the 800-yard free relay in 9:01.59 and the 200-yard medley relay in 2:05.79. Riverside kept the relay wins coming with the top time in the 400-yard free relay (4:12.94) and the 400-yard medley relay (4:46.89).
Kaia Boone won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:30.87, while Ashlyn Allen followed in second in 2:36.24. Boone also won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:40.47, with Allen once again on her tail in 2:42.78.
Allen won the 100-yard breast in 1:15.55, just edging out Boone by .07 seconds as Boone clocked in at 1:15.62.
Boone grabbed another win in the 100-yard IM with a time of 1:07.75.
Isadora Taylor posted the fastest time in the 200-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 2:31.34. Marianna Smith followed in third with a time of 2:55.45. Taylor also won the 400-yard IM in 5:21.91.
Audra Lacey and Madison Faulkner went one-two in the 500-yard freestyle, with Lacey posting a time of 5:51.69 and Faulkner following in 6:16.53. Lacey took second in the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 1:16.71.
Lacey also posted the top time in the 1650 yard free (20:40.20).
Isabella Stolpp won the 50-yard free in 26.47 and won the 200-yard free in 2:14.80, followed by Faulkner in 2:15.75 for second place. Stolpp also took first in the 100-yard free (57.88).
Keira Casey took first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:08.29 and finished runner-up in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:30.55.
The Tigers look to carry momentum into the second Orange Empire Conference meet of the year, heading to Orange Coast College on Friday at 9 a.m.
