Riverside Remains in First After Day 2 of OEC Championship
Riverside City College increased its lead after the second day of the Orange Empire Conference Championships.
The Tigers sit in first place with 494 points, while Orange Coast College follows with 434 points and Golden West College holds in third with 391 points.
Isabella Stolpp took second in the 200-yard free, posting a time of two minutes, 3.66 seconds – just .03 seconds behind first place. Audra Lacey also finished in the top five, taking fifth in 2:06.83.
Isadora Taylor grabbed third in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:55.07, shaving off almost 4.5 seconds from her prelims time. Ashlyn Allen took fifth in 5:02.85 – an almost nine-second improvement from her prelims time.
Kaia Boone posted the third-best time in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:08.70. Brianna Hoover followed in eighth place with a time of 1:16.17.
Keira Casey took third in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 1:06.65, while Madison Faulkner wasn't far behind in fifth with a time of 1:08.28. Sophia Rodriguez also finished in the top 10 with a time of 1:11.28.
Angelina Beall took seventh in the 100-yard butterfly, posting a time of 1:10.79.
The Tigers took fourth in the 200-yard medley relay, clocking in at 1:58.31, and took third in the 800-yard free relay with a time of 8:26.39.
RCC closes out the championship meet on Saturday, looking to finish strong. Prelims are set to begin at 9:30 a.m. with the finals session starting at 3 p.m.
