Tigers Sit in First Place After First Day of OEC Championship
Riverside City College is off to a good start after the first day of the Orange Empire Conference Swim Championships.
The Tigers sit in first place with 244 points, while host Orange Coast College is currently in second with 209 points and Golden West College rounds out the top three with 181 points.
Riverside took second in the 200-yard free relay, clocking in at one minute, 40.65 seconds. The Tigers also took third in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:15.81.
Ashlyn Allen posted a third-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, touching the wall in 2:20.69. Kaia Boone followed in fifth (2:20.92), Kailin Stumpf took seventh (2:37.10), and Rylee Baldwin finished in 10th (2:50.90).
Isabella Stolpp took bronze in the 50-yard free, clocking in at 25.64 seconds. Brianna Hoover also finished in the top 10 with a time of 26.03 seconds to take ninth.
Madison Faulkner and Audra Lacey took fourth and fifth, respectively in the 500-yard freestyle with times of 5:37.20 and 5:43.42. Keira Casey (6:00.03, 7th), Maribella Toyer (6:10.07, 9th) and Keira McDonald (6:12.04, 10th) also finished in the top 10.
