Tigers Show Improvement in Longer Race
For the second straight week, Riverside City College finished third as a team, but this time was a lot closer despite the Tigers running a longer distance.
RCC finished with 83 points, just two points behind the University of Redlands, who last week beat the Tigers by 29 points. Riverside also beat out two four-year programs: NCAA Division II Concordia University (92 points) and NCAA Division III University of La Verne (97 points).
Luis Mier led RCC with a time of 25 minutes, 59.2 seconds to take 14th place overall. Alex Wesolowski wasn't far behind his fellow Tiger, clocking in at 26:10.4 to finish 16th overall. Joshua West rounded out the top 20 with a time of 26:18.8, while Martin Toerres-Sandoval (26:30.3) and Dyeem Tolbert (26:31.1) came in one right after the other.
Anthony Silca (26:40.2) and Angel Gomez (26:53.1) rounded out the scorers for the Tigers.
Riverside takes almost two weeks off before heading to the Golden West Invitational on Sept. 19.
