RCC Claims 10th Consecutive OEC Championship

Results

Riverside City College won its 10th-straight Orange Empire Conference Championship on Friday and saw Alex Wesolowski win the individual title.

The Tigers posted 15 team points, while Orange Coast College took second with 49 points, and Saddleback College finished third with 76 points.

Wesolowski won the event in 20 minutes, 33.7 seconds, while Joshua West was right on his tail in 20:34.3 to take second. Luis Mier grabbed fourth with a time of 20:46.4, Dyeem Tolbert finished in fifth (20:58.7), and Anthony Silva took sixth in 21:04.1. All five Tigers earned All-OEC first-team honors with their top seven finishes.

Ivan Dorantes posted a time of 21:08.2 to take eighth overall, while Angel Gomez finished in 10th (21:17.7) to round out the scorers for the Tigers. Martin Sandoval joined the pair on the All-OEC second team after taking 14th overall with a time of 21:38.8.

The Tigers head to the SoCal Championship next week on Friday at the Naval Training Center Park in San Diego.
