RCC Takes Second at Cal State Fullerton Invite
Riverside City College took second overall at the John Elders Invitational Friday night but was the top collegiate team finisher.
The Tigers finished with 40 points to take second behind a team of former collegiate runners (Valor Track Club). RCC beat out fellow Orange Empire Conference opponent Orange Coast College by 39 points.
Joshua West led Riverside with a fifth-place finish overall, clocking in at 24 minutes, 55.9 seconds. Luis Mier followed in 25:23.4, while Alex Wesolowski posted a time of 25:39.0 and Anthony Silva clocked in at 25:43.7 to take 15th overall.
Angel Gomez took 20th in 25:52.4 and Ivan Dorantes was three spots behind in 25:58.6. Daniel Rodriguez finished in 26:17.6 to round out the scorers for the Tigers.
RCC shifts its focus to the postseason, heading to the OEC Championship next Friday at 10 a.m. at Saddleback College, where the Tigers are vying for their ninth-straight OEC title.
