Riverside Takes Third at OEC Championship Meet

Results

Riverside City College took third overall at the Orange Empire Conference Championship on Friday morning, finishing with 66 team points.

Orange Coast College won the championship with 24 points, while Saddleback College took second with 58 points, and Fullerton College grabbed fourth with 81 points.

Celeste Mendoza led the Tigers with a 10th-place finish, clocking in at 19 minutes, 50.1 seconds. Lorena Munoz (20:03.3) and Caitlyn Brody (20:19.7) followed right behind Mendoza, taking 11th and 12th, respectively. All three grabbed All-OEC honors after placing in the top 14.

Audianna Salgado took 18th overall with a time of 21:54.4, while Jessica Munoz posted a time of 22:16.1 to take 20th. Valeria Serrano and Evangeline Ibarra rounded out the runners for RCC with respective times of 23:38.4 and 24:17.6.

RCC qualified for the SoCal Championship, which takes place on Nov. 7 at the Naval Training Center Park in San Diego.
