After finding itself down two sets, Riverside City College tried to rally but ultimately fell 3-1 (25-17, 25-12, 22-25, 25-18) to Citrus College Wednesday night.
The Tigers slip to 2-6 on the year, while the Owls improve to 6-4 overall.
Savannah Smith led RCC with nine kills in the match, while also posting 14 digs defensively. Sara Brittin followed with six kills, while Keira Isgar chipped in 16 digs and Riley Rush finished with 25 assists.
RCC held Citrus to its worst hitting percentage in the third (-.027) to take the set 25-22 and keep the match going, but the Owls took any momentum away in the fourth to secure the four-set result.
The Tigers turn around to host Mt. San Antonio College on Friday at 5 p.m., looking to bounce back before playing two more matches on Saturday at L.A. Mission College.
