Riverside City College battled back from a two-set hole to grab a 3-2 victory (24-26, 24-26, 25-12, 25-12, 15-7) over Fullerton College Wednesday night.
The Tigers improve to 6-17 overall and 4-8 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Hornets slip to 4-13 on the year, 2-10 in conference.
RCC found itself trailing 2-0 in the match heading into the third set and cleaned things up. The Tigers hit at a .250 clip in the third and a solid .364 percentage in the fifth to seal the deal.
Riley Rush led the Tigers with 14 kills and added 28 assists as a dual threat. Jayden Franchere followed with 12 kills with just two errors to boast a .400 hitting percentage. Madison Pastorius chipped in 10 kills and had 12 digs defensively. Keira Isgar finished with 14 digs for RCC, while Sienna Veum was just on the cusp of double digits with nine digs.
The Tigers look to build on the positives as they head to fourth-ranked Orange Coast College on Friday for a 6 p.m. matchup.
