Tigers Dim the Lasers!

Match Notes:

·         RCC returned to conference play with a full line-up and swept singles to win the match against Irvine Valley College.

·         Freshman Danny Garcia got the Tigers started playing in the #3 spot, avenging his first round loss to James Lafond, taking him down 6-1, 6-0.

·         Ulises Banos (6-0, 6-3) and Jordan Gobatie (6-1, 6-1) kept the Tigers rolling, winning the #5 and #1 spots, putting the Tigers up 3-0 in the Team score.

·         Sophomore Aliaksandr Pesniak, playing in the #2 spot, battled back from a first set loss to win his match, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1, taking the Team score to 4-0

·         Needing one more victory to seal the Team win, Eliott Moreno battled back from a first set loss to win his match and seal the victory for the Tigers, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

·         Gustavo Carvalho had the most grueling match (2 hours, 35 minutes), securing the sweep of singles 7-6 (3), 6-3 

·         RCC won 2 out of 3 of the doubles to win the match 8-1 

·         RCC returns to action tomorrow as the Men's and Women's teams will host an expanded dual-team format match and compete against the Men's and Women's teams from PalomarCollege of the Pacific Coast Conference.  This event will bring the Men's and Women's teams together for their only joint dual-team match.
