Tigers Keep Momentum Heading Into Postseason

Riverside City College grabbed a 9-0 shutout victory on the road at Fullerton College on Tuesday.

The Tigers improve to 14-3 overall and 5-2 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Hornets drop to 4-10 on the year and 0-8 in conference.

Ronith Sreeram and Giovanne Recchia got things going with an 8-1 doubles win before Matias Almeida/Ethan Lee and Charalampos Plataniotis/Jayden Weng each posted 8-2 victories.

Lucas Koitka kept the momentum rolling into singles action with a 6-0, 6-0 victory before Almeida and Lee posted similar 6-1, 6-0 wins. Recchia didn't allow his opponent to score (6-0, 6-0), before Plataniotis (6-2, 6-1) and Sreeram (6-3, 6-0) sealed the Tiger victory.

Riverside has its last match of the regular season at Orange Coast College on Thursday, with the first serve set for 2 p.m.
