Tigers Battle Lasers in OEC Opener

Riverside City College opened Orange Empire Conference action with a tough battle against Irvine Valley College, ultimately falling 5-4.

The Tigers slip to 6-2 on the year and 0-1 in conference, while the Lasers improve to 2-0 overall, 1-0 in OEC.

Charalampos Plataniotis and Vinicius Magrin teamed up to win their doubles match 8-6 before each winning their individual matches by respective scores of 6-0, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-3. Matias Almeida also picked up a win (1-6, 6-3, 10-8).

Riverside looks to bounce back on the road at Mt. San Antonio College on Thursday at 2 p.m.
