Tigers Edge Fullerton in Conference Play

It was a short-handed showing for both teams on Thursday afternoon as the Riverside men's tennis team hit the road to face off against the Fullerton College Hornets in limited action. Despite each team having four active players on each side, the competition was still at a high level.

Sophomore captain Chris Lee was the catalyst to the day with his top-singles showdown deciding the match.

Lee found himself in a three-set showdown despite nagging the first set at 6-1. He followed by narrowly dropping the second set, 5-7, to set up a deciding set for the team outcome. Nevertheless, the seasoned vet stayed true to his approach and cruised through the final set leading to a win at 6-1.

Lee and freshman Noah Canones were slotted as the lone doubles team and earned an 8-4 win. Freshman Andrew Hernandez earned the other victory for the Tigers in two sets at 6-1, 6-2.
