After his sophomore season with the Tigers, Vu accepted an athletic scholarship to play at Oklahoma Wesleyan University (NAIA). As a junior transfer, Vu played No. 1 for the Eagles and was an All-MCAC Conference selection in singles. He won the Eagle Scholarship Award by being voted the top student-athlete on campus. In 2005, Vu was selected by ITA as NAIA Preseason Doubles All-American (with Seves). He chose to forego his final year of eligibility, opting out of his senior year.
