Riverside City College closed out its home tournament on a high note. After falling 19-8 to Grossmont College to start the day, the Tigers beat Citrus College 16-8 to improve to 3-9 on the year.
In the first game, Nico Armstrong and Luke Bills each scored twice, while Jax Mora, Damion Montegue, Davis DeAnda and Yanti Quijada also scored for RCC.
The Tigers turned things around against the Owls, despite going down 2-0 early. Bills sparked a seven goal scoring spree for Riverside to put the Tigers up 7-2 after the first quarter.
Riverside kept its foot on the pedal and upped its lead to 12-5 at halftime, with Zachary McDonald giving his team the seven-goal lead just 30 seconds before the break.
Ian Partida-Garcia gave RCC its highest lead of the game, 14-5, less than two minutes into the third, all but securing the 16-8 victory for Riverside.
Bills finished with eight goals in the contest, while Partida-Garcia added three goals and both McDonald and Armstrong scored twice. Quijada also had a goal for the Tigers.
RCC resumes Orange Empire Conference action on Wednesday, heading to Fullerton College for a noon contest.
