Strong Second Half Leads Riverside to Victory Over Fullerton
Riverside City College grabbed a 17-6 victory over Fullerton College, scoring 11 goals in the second half alone.
The Tigers improve to 5-10 overall and 1-2 in the Orange Empire Conference with their first conference win, while the Hornets drop to 2-12 on the year and 0-4 in the OEC.
Luke Bills led Riverside with a strong performance, scoring nine goals and dishing out six assists, while also making four field blocks. Ian Partida-Garcia also played a significant role, with three goals and three assists, while Yanti Quijada added three goals and one assist. Damion Montegue also contributed to the tally with two goals and one assist, further solidifying Riverside's commanding win.
RCC demonstrated offensive efficiency, particularly in the third quarter, where the Tigers outscored Fullerton 6-4, further extending their lead. The defensive efforts from Riverside were notable as well, as RCC held the Hornets scoreless in the final quarter to secure the 17-6 victory.
Adrian Thompson and Leonardo Davis combined for 15 saves in the cage.
The Tigers look to carry momentum into Friday's pair of games at the Long Beach City College Mini Tournament.
