RCC Takes Fifth at OEC Tournament
Riverside City College took fifth place at the Orange Empire Conference Championship Tournament with a 23-12 victory over Fullerton College.
The Tigers cap their season with an 8-17 overall record, while the Hornets end the year at 2-19.
Luke Bills led RCC with nine goals, while Yanti Quijada was right behind him with seven goals and seven steals. Nico Armstrong and Jax Mora each chipped in a pair of goals, while Ian Partida-Garcia, Damion Montegue, and Davis DeAnda also got in on the scoring action.
RCC scored the first three goals of the contest to jump out to an early lead and never looked back. Bills rattled in the first two before Armstrong upped the Tigers' lead to 3-0.
Riverside kept its foot on the gas and took a 15-5 lead at halftime after scoring nine goals in the second quarter alone.
Fullerton tried to keep RCC within reach, but three straight goals from Bills early in the fourth all but sealed the 23-12 victory for the Tigers.
