Tigers Dominate Roadrunners

Riverside City College grabbed a 9-0 victory over Rio Hondo College on Wednesday afternoon, its sixth shutout of the year.

The Tigers improve to 10-2 on the year and 4-1 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Roadrunners drop to 3-9 overall, 2-4 in conference.

RCC made quick work of the doubles portion of the match with Julianna Capraro/Angelina Capraro and Victoria Herrera/Brianna Nikas grabbing 8-0 wins. Fleurdeliz Libutan and Natalia Gomez rounded out the doubles sweep with an 8-4 victory.

Herrera and Julianna Capraro carried the dominance into singles play with 6-0, 6-0 wins, before the Tigers sealed the team sweep.

Riverside heads to Mt. San Antonio College on Thursday, with an evening matchup due to the high heat warnings. The Tigers and Mounties are scheduled to play at 6 p.m.
