RCC Downs Mt. SAC On the Road

Riverside City College grabbed its seventh 9-0 victory of the season, downing Mt. San Antonio College on the road Thursday evening.

The Tigers improve to 11-2 overall and 5-1 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Mounties slip to 4-10 on the year and 2-4 in conference.

RCC swept the doubles competition with Victoria Herrera and Brianna Nikas dominating an 8-0 victory to set the tone. Julianna Capraro and Angelina Capraro followed with an 8-3 win before Fleurdeliz Libutan and Natalia Gomez sealed the team win with an 8-4 victory.

All six Tigers followed with victories in their singles matches, with Nikas grabbing a quick 6-1, 6-1 win to keep things rolling. Herrera sealed the sweep with a battle in the No. 1 spot, winning 6-7 (4), 6-4, 10-8.

Riverside returns home to close out the regular season, hosting Fullerton College on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
