Riverside City College couldn't overcome a rough shooting performance in a 59-48 loss to LA Harbor College Thursday afternoon to tip off the Santa Ana College Tournament.
The Tigers slip to 4-6 on the year, while the Seahawks improve to 3-6 overall.
As a team, RCC shot at a 19.7 percent, while only making one three-pointer all game. The Tigers won the glass, however, outrebounding the Seahawks 63-54.
Alexa Moreno led Riverside with a double-double, posting 18 points and 10 boards. Amia McKinney was the next highest scorer for the Tigers with seven points, while Michelle Soto grabbed 10 rebounds and Cheyenne Thomas chipped in nine boards.
Riverside returns for day two of the three-day tournament on Friday, taking on Pasadena City College at 2 p.m.
