Riverside City College closed the 2025 portion of its schedule out victorious, defeating Citrus College 65-60 on the road.
The Tigers improve to 6-10 overall as they end nonconference action, while the Owls slip to 3-10 on the year.
Salote Patetefa came up big for RCC, posting 28 points (12-for-27) and 24 rebounds. Skyy Simmons also had a double-double with 12 points (4-for-19) and 12 boards, helping the Tigers dominate the glass 72-to-44.
Riverside found itself trailing 49-40 heading into the final 10 minutes of action but shot 55.6 percent from the floor in the fourth quarter to take the lead and hold on for the 65-60 victory. Patetefa went 6-for-10 in the quarter to score 12 of her 28 points, while the Tigers held the Owls to just a 6.3 shooting percentage.
The Tigers look to build on momentum as they head into Orange Empire Conference action in the new year, first taking on No. 2-ranked Orange Coast College on Wed., Jan. 7, at 7 p.m. on the road.
