Riverside City College couldn't battle back after falling behind early in a 74-53 loss to No. 10-ranked Irvine Valley College Friday night.
The Tigers drop to 6-14 overall and 0-4 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Lasers improve to 16-3 on the year, 2-1 in conference action.
Salote Patetefa had a solid game for Riverside, finishing with 18 points (6-for-14) and seven rebounds. Kylah Guillory added 10 points (3-for-6) and seven rebounds, while Zakai Howard and Amia McKinney also had seven boards to help RCC win the glass 50-to-44.
Alexa Moreno dished out six assists and Brianna Ruelas added five assists, while Michelle Soto posted four blocks.
Despite trailing 32-to-15 at halftime, RCC never gave up and shot 40 percent in the final 10 minutes, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Lasers.
The Tigers are back at home on Wednesday, hosting No. 21-ranked Santa Ana College at 7 p.m.
